GRE is a pre-requisite for admission into Masters programs in Engineering, Science and for programs in disciplans other than Management, Law or Medicine. Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical writing skills are tested to determine the students ability to use language logically. The maximum score for GRE is 'QUANT'+'VERBAL'=340. The GRE Analytical Writing Section is assessed on a scale of 1 to 6.
